EDDIE RABBITT

One of country music's most innovative artists during the late '70s and early '80s, Eddie Rabbitt has made contributions to the format that have often gone overlooked. Especially in songs like the R&B-inflected "Suspicions" and the rockin' "Someone Could Lose a Heart Tonight," Rabbitt challenged the commonly recognized creative boundaries of the idiom. Rabbit recorded and released such hits as "Drving My Life Away", "I Love a Rainy Night", "Rocky Mountain Music", "Kentucky Rain" ( Prestly remake), and "Do You Right Tonight". In 1997 Rabbit was diagnosed with lung cancer from years of smoking. He left this world with his great music on May 7th , 1998. Rabbit was an important factor for the country music industry because he challenged those typical stereotypes. Rabbit didnt dress country, look country or even sound country. My favorite Rabbit tune is "Rocky Mountain Music", and I cant say why........ so that makes the song even more special.
